MLB Draft: Rockies Sign Two First-Rounders, Fourth-Rounder

The Colorado Rockies officially introduced three of their top five draft picks in a press conference in Denver yesterday. The tenth overall pick, high school outfielder David Dahl from Birmingham, Alabama, agreed on a $2.6 million signing bonus. Supplemental first-round selection Eddie Butler, a pitcher out of Radford University, signed for an even $1 million. Fourth-round pick Seth Willoughby, a pitcher out of Xavier University, signed for $330,300. Dahl and Butler will report to the Rockies’ rookie-level minor league team in Grand Junction, Colorado, while Willoughby will play short-season A-ball in Pasco, Washington.
