Sutherland’s Trey Kerner stole the show in the marquee event at night one of the Buffalo Bill Rodeo at the Wild West Arena. Kerner’s 65 point bull ride was the only one to qualify after the opening night of competition. Other event leaders after the first go-around are Joe Gunderson of Agar, South Dakota in bareback riding; Jerrad Hofstetter of Portales, New Mexico, and Cody Quaney from Cheney, Kansas in a tie in the tie-down roping; Ryan Swayze of Freedom, Oklahoma in steer wrestling, Blaza Hamaker of Centennial, Wyoming in saddle bronc; Mary Burger of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma in barrel racing, and the team of Garrett Nokes from McCook and Matt Wilken from Smithfield in team roping. The second day of competition includes morning slack and continues with the second night’s events getting underway at approximately 8 PM.
