Ruben J. Fernandez Grabbing Bear, 23, of North Platte, passed away July 6, 2012, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 7, 1988, in North Platte.
Ruben is survived by his mother, Peggy Goodwin, of North Platte; a sister, Leova Fernandez, of Lincoln; two brothers, Felipe Carland, of North Platte, and Miguel Fernandez, of North Platte; a special friend, Tiffiny Estrada; grandparents, Loren and Lucille Carland; aunts and uncles, Leann Grabbing Bear, Tony and Marnia Hughes, Joe and Kristy Hughes, Lawrence Carland, Jukes Munoz, Char Anderson, Darrell Spotted Elk and Edna Apple; special nieces and nephews, Mark O’Dean,Jacquline, Ali, Marley, Anakin, Alex, Nene, Serenity, Sabastin, Tabiaz and Corbin; special cousins, Mijo, Briano, Filemon Munoz, Cory Zeigler, Nadezdha Hughes and Dannie Carland; Ruben’s dogs, Justice, Caution, Gonzo and Felony; and many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Grabbing Bear; great-grandmother, Alice Perkins; grandmothers, Regina Grabbing Bear and Gertrude Hughes; brother, Jesus; uncle, Oopie; and a special friend, Kresha.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow services.
