Nebraska has one of the best kickers and one of the best punters in the nation, They just happen to be the same person. Brett Maher was named to the watch lists for the Lou Groza Award for the nation’s top kicker and the Ray Guy Award for the top punter yesterday. The senior from Kearney was named the Big Ten’s Kicker of the Year and Punter of the Year last season. He made 19 of 23 field goals and averaged 44.5 yards per punt. Maher is one of only two players to be named to both the Groza Award and Guy Award watch lists.
