Robert Wendell Coons, age 73, of North Platte, passed away July 17 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 8, 1938. His parents Cecil and Ada Coons and his son Billy preceded him in death.
Bob graduated from Hyannis High School in 1957 and then attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln on a music scholarship.
On June 6, 1959 Bob married Francis Kay Applegarth.
To this union 7 children were born. Roberta Coons Mendoza, Rhonda Arledge, Cecil Coons, Rosalie Rozmiarek, Roxann Macon and Robert Coons: 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bob married LeEtta Sue Kohl on March 1, 1980, adding 2 children, Pam Alvarado and Leonda Shepherd, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren to the family.

Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday July 19, 2012 at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Rev. Tom Wiles officiating. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 12:00 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
