Huskers in London – Aubry Wins With Canada Hoops, Larson and US Volleyball Get Big Win

Jordan Larson

A pair of former Huskers led their teams to victories at the Olympics in London yesterday. Chelsea Aubry, who is the first former Husker women’s basketball player to play in an Olympic Games, contributed to Team Canada’s 73-65 win over Great Britain. Aubry scored six points, hauled down three rebounds, and handed out two assists as Canada won it’s first game at the Olympics since 2000. Aubry and the Canadians take on France in pool play on Wednesday. On a different kind of court, Jordan Larson helped Team USA women’s volleyball to a four-set victory over Brazil, the team that beat the Americans in the gold medal match in 2008. Larson, from Hooper, Nebraska, tallied 16 kills and a pair of stuff blocks. The unbeaten Americans are back at it today, as they take on Germany in pool play.
