Leona ‘Lee’ Jo Webster, 55, of North Platte, NE, died Friday, August 3, 2012, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
Leona ‘Lee’ was born June 17, 1957, at Gothenburg, NE to Demar Wesley and Ethel Faye Timmons Garner. She grew up and attended school in North Platte then later attended Mid-Plains Community College.
Lee was married and worked as a farm wife until she divorced. In 1980 Lee married William Webster and to this union two children were born. Following sixteen years of marriage, they divorced in 1996.
Lee was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She worked hard all her life at various places and most recently at the Ben Franklin Store until her health forced her to retire in 2011. She loved to sing country music, do any type of crafts and handwork. Her family, friends and her dogs were very important to her.
Lee is survived by her daughter, Amber Webster, a son, Raymond Webster, and her fiance, Rick Schrotberger, all of North Platte; a granddaughter, Abilene; six sisters, Glendin Patrick, Janie (Dale) Newtson, Lavella (Leonard) Pfeister and Mary (Kevin) Stewart, all of North Platte, Orpha (Terry) Walker, of Cozad, NE and Johnette (Fredrick) Long, of Metaire, LA; three brothers, John (Lora) Garner, of Gothenburg, NE and Don Garner and John Hanson, both of North Platte; her aunt, Marymae (Don) Seery, of North Platte; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Demar Garner and Ethel Hanson, and stepfather, Gerald Hanson; her infant daughter, Shelly Herbaugh; a brother-in-law, Bradford Patrick; a niece, baby Walker; and a nephew, J.D. Garner.
Cremation was chosen. Arrangements are pending. The family has established a memorial. Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
