Manning Tosses Pair of TD, Broncos Lose

Peyton Manning threw his first touchdown pass as a Denver Bronco, then added another for good measure in a 29-24 loss to the San Francisco Giants in preseason action at Sports Authority Field. Manning only played the first quarter but turned in his sharpest performance of the preseason by far, leading the Broncos to 17 points on his three drives. He connected on 10 of his 12 pass attempts for 122 yards and hooked up with Eric Decker on both scoring plays. Manning played turnover-free football for the first time in the preseason as well. The Broncos had a 24-10 lead at the half, but for the second straight week, the backups played poorly, getting outscored 19-0 in the second half. Denver wraps up their preseason schedule on Thursday night, traveling to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Cardinals.
