Mark Reyna, age 54, a former longtime Ogallala resident, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska. A Rosary and Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1st at St. Luke’s Catholic Church with Fr. Bryan Ernest as celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Keith County
Veteran’s Organizations.
Mark was born December 1, 1957, one of twelve children born to Gilbert and Rosie Reyna. He grew up in Brule and Ogallala and attended schools in both towns. In 1974 he enlisted in the United States Army. He married Therese Wheeler on March 11, 1975. The couple had five children together. Mark worked in sales and construction most of his life. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, golfing, playing guitar, singing, wood working, trap shooting and spending time with friends and family. He was a man with a very big heart and cared for everyone he met and would have given the world to someone if he could. He was also high spirited and full of laughter and love. Most people will remember Mark as a jokester and being ornery. He was an avid Nebraska Huskers Fan and also was interested in politics. He is very loved and will be missed tremendously.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony Reyna of Ogallala and Timothy and wife Jenelle Reyna of Bennett, CO; one daughter, Tiffany Reyna and fiancé Zeke Peterson of Brule, NE. Three grandchildren, Annabella, Gabriella and Marcello Reyna of Bennett, CO and a fourth grandchildren due to arrive in October; brothers and sisters, Marcella and husband Bob Dayton of Auburn, CA, Rosie Rivas and partner Gary of Denver, CO, Josephine and husband Jim Claubaugh of Sun City, AZ, Julia and husband Al Gill of San Jose, CA, Cecilia Romero of Cheyenne, WY, Lupe Iturrios of Ogallala, NE, Cindy Reyna and partner Dina of Pueblo, CO, Robert and wife Patty Reyna of Brule, NE, Steve Reyna of Lincoln, NE and Joseph Reyna of Casper, WY; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews and Godmother, Cidelia Diaz of Ogallala, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Reyna; a son Gilbert and a daughter, Erin; and a granddaughter, Alejandra in infancy.
