The Colorado Rockies held off a late charge from the San Francisco Giants for a 6-5 victory at Coors Field last night. Starting pitcher Alex White hit his first career home run and worked four strong innings on the mound. Rafael Betancourt worked a clean ninth frame for his 28th save after the Giants had cut a 6-2 Rockies lead down to one run. Tyler Colvin and Chris Nelson each had two of Colorado’s 10 hits. The Rockies and Giants play game two of their three game set in Denver tonight. First pitch is set for 7:40.
