Dennis “Denny” Wayne Ehmen, age 54, of North Platte, passed away September 24, 2012 at his home. Denny was born September 30, 1957 in Lincoln, NE to Merlin Joy and Colleen LaVonne Points Ehmen. He grew up in Fairmont, graduating with the class of 1976. Denny worked for Standard Oil, before moving to North Platte in 1977. He hired on the Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor. On September 24, 1983 he married Lynn May Aringdale in North Platte.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and NASCAR racing. He was a member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. Denny was a private person who enjoyed sports and gardening. He was one of the best field goal kickers in the state while in High School.
Dennis will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn of North Platte; daughter, Colleen (Aaron Race) Ehmen of North Platte; step-daughter, Jamie (James) Youngblood of North Platte; parents, Merlin and Colleen Ehmen of Fairmont, NE; sister, Katherine (Dan) Ekeler of Fairmont, NE; brothers, Rodney (Laura) Ehmen of Fairmont, NE, Michael (Tammy) Ehmen of Garden City, GA, Randy (Melanie) Ehmen of Alma, NE and William (Dawn) Ehmen of York, NE; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home (421 West 4th Street, North Platte, Nebraska) with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. The casket will be closed and visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. today and Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
