Scheduled Maintenance Makes Lake Maloney Get Low Low Low

Every five years The Nebraska Public Power District requires inspects and performs maintenance to canals and waterways in western Nebraska. Lake Maloney’s water level is expected to drop as canals drain.

According to utility water resources adviser Edward Dekleva, the NPPD began draining canals from Lake Maloney to Keystone Dam to inspect the sides and structures of the canals normally under water.
