The Colorado Rockies will indeed interview Jason Giambi for their vacant managerial position. Giambi, who has played for the Rockies since late in the 2009 season, has expressed interest in the job, saying he would retire as a player if given the opportunity. The 41 year-old Giambi has spent 18 years as a major leaguer. The Rockies have also said they are now looking at external candidates for the position. Bench coach Tom Runnells has already interviewed. Current Triple-A manager Stu Cole is no longer a candidate.
