The NFL’s Seattle Seahawks signed three former Nebraska Huskers as undrafted free agents yesterday as the league’s offseason began with a flurry of signings one day after the end of the lockout. Quarterback Zac Lee, safety Ricky Thenarse and defensive end Pierre Allen signed with the defending NFC West champions. Other former Huskers to find their NFL homes include offensive lineman Ricky Henry, who signed with the Chicago Bears; tight end Mike McNeill, who inked with the Indianapolis Colts; offensive lineman DJ Jones, who signed with the Miami Dolphins; and kicker Adi Kunalic, now a Carolina Panther. In addition, former UNK defensive end Mason Brodine signed with the Oakland Raiders. Ten NFL teams, including the Seahawks and Denver Broncos, open their training camps today.
