Omaha Man Dies In California Plane Crash

A television station reports that two people killed in a small plane crash in central California were a doctor and his father from the Midwest.

The FAA says a Cessna 421 was flying from Salinas to Omaha, Neb. when it went down in the mountains northeast of Fresno Saturday night.

Authorities told the Fresno Bee that the coroner’s office had not notified the men’s relatives, but family members identified them to KYTV in Springfield, Mo.

They were 41-year-old Scott Clarke, a doctor at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, and his 67-year-old father, Patrick, a prominent businessman in Omaha.

The plane crashed upside down near Shaver Lake, an alpine lake in the Sierra National Forrest.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the crash.
