Doreen Margaret Burke, 54, of Tryon, NE formerly of Illinois, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE.

Doreen was born February 20, 1958, to William Daniel and Vivian Helen Allan Burke at Ottawa, IL. She grew up in Ottawa where she graduated from high school. She then went to Cosmetology School and worked as a beautician. Doreen later went to work as a welder for the Built Rite Corporation for 10 years. She then moved to Florida with her mother and brother, Daniel, where she worked for Amglo Kemlite Laboratories making light bulbs until 2007. Doreen later moved to Tryon, NE with her daughter, Amanda, and Amanda’s partner, Heidi, her granddaughters and brother, Daniel.

Doreen is survived by her daughter, Amanda Nelson, and Amanda’s partner, Heidi Brouwer, of Tryon; two granddaughters, Aurora and Christina Bolf; three sisters, Darleen Vanchura and Diana Puffenbarger, both of Texas and Denice Bennett, of Illinois; four brothers, Daniel Burke, of Tryon, Daryl Watson, of the Philippines, Dennis Watson, of Florida and David Watson, of Texas; many nieces, nephews and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vivian Burke.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no service. Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
