Nebraska’s Andre Almeida was named the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance in last week’s Husker victory over Wake Forest. The senior center from Brazil posted his first career double-double, tying a career high with 20 points and hauling down 11 rebounds. He became the first Big Ten player to record at least 20 points and 10 boards while shooting 90% from the field in the same game since 2009. The award is the first of Almeida’s career.
