The Nebraska Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of a former Scottsbluff police officer on child pornography charges.
Tyler Reinpold was found guilty last year in Scotts Bluff County District Court of 10 counts of possessing child pornography. He was sentenced in March to five to 10 years in prison.
Reinpold had claimed the images were part of a police investigation he was conducting, but prosecutors disproved that.
In his appeal, Reinpold argued that the videos and photos found on his computer hard were the result of an illegal search by an investigator. He also argued that prosecutors failed to prove those depicted in the photos and videos were under 18 years old.
The state’s high court on Friday said Reinpold’s arguments were without merit.
