On Saturday, January 20th, a 20-year-old North Platte man was arrested under suspicion of being in an intimate relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
Authorities responded to the report of a 15-year-old girl who ran away from her home shortly before midnight and that she was possibly with suspect, Cole Picotte, near the 1900 block of W.4th Street.
According to the North Platte Police Department, the two individuals weren’t located immediately but officers made contact with the two later that evening.
An investigation determined that there was probable cause to arrest Picotte for being in an intimate relationship with the female juvenile. Officers arrested Picotte and charged him with 1st Degree Sexual Assault and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Picotte was booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center.
