The North Platte Community Playhouse (NPCP) is proud to present the epic Lionel Bart musical, OLIVER! This is the third production of an already amazing season at the NPCP.
OLIVER! was first presented in London, where it played for 2,618 performances at the New Theatre. It played for 774 performances on Broadway at the Imperial and Shubert Theatres starring Georgia Brown and Clive Revill as Nancy and Fagin. It has been revived on Broadway several times, as in 1984 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre, and in London in 1994 at the Palladium starring Jonathan Pryce as Fagin.
OLIVER! tells the story of a young orphan, and his journey from a London workhouse, to joining Fagin and his group of pickpockets, all while searching for unconditional love and acceptance. The show features many epic numbers including “Food Glorious Food,” “Consider Yourself,” “As Long as He Needs Me,” and many more. Audiences will not be disappointed with this production!
The NPCP presented this epic musical in 1995, and has decided to revive the production due to its huge popularity.
The show will make a six night run February 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Tickets sales will begin on Monday February 4 and are $15 for Adults and $8 for children and students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.northplattecommunityplayhouse.com, at the NPCP Box Office Monday-Friday from Noon-5:00pm, by calling (308) 532-8559 or at the door prior to any of the performances. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00pm and Sunday Matinees begin at 2:00pm.
The production is directed by Scott Carlson and John Hales with musical director Lori Swanson, Choreographer Amariah Hodgen and Stage Manager Bryan Solko.
