A driver has been killed in a car crash along U.S. Highway 81 six miles south of Columbus in eastern Nebraska.

The Columbus Telegram reports that the accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A witness says the car veered off the highway.

The crash cause is being investigated. The driver’s name hasn’t been released.
