Knights Tripped Up By Laramie County

A poor shooting night led to the end of the North Platte Knights’ six-game winning streak. The Knights shot a season-worst 3-for-20 from three-point range in a 73-64 loss at Laramie County. North Platte led 29-23 at the halftime break but missed all twelve of their threes in the second half. In a game that saw nineteen lead changes, the Golden Eagles went ahead for good on a 12-2 run midway through the second half. Three Knights scored in double figures in the defeat. Reach Jiech led the team with 16 points. Ben Wilson added 14 points and Tim Simmons contributed 12 points. The loss drops North Platte to 18-5 on the season and 8-3 in the Region IX South sub-region. They maintain first place on the tiebreaker with Lamar. The Knights are back in action Friday night, hosting Trinidad State Junior College.
