Camp is officially open for the Nebraska football team. The Huskers held their first practices of the fall on Saturday and Sunday, practicing for two hours in helmets but without pads. Huskers head coach Bo Pelini said he felt Saturday’s practice was a pretty typical first practice of camp. Among the most notable developments of the weekend were freshman Jamal Turner, who starred at wide receiver in the spring, taking snaps at quarterback, and offensive linemen Marcel Jones and Givens Price missing time with injuries.
