The Nebraska Supreme Court has formally disbarred a former Seward city attorney.
The Associated Press reports the high court made Larry Brauer’s disbarment official Friday. He worked for Seward for nearly 23 years.
Brauer voluntarily surrendered his license to practice law in Nebraska after resigning from his job in August. At the time, he was on an unpaid leave of absence from his job.
The newspaper reports Brauer had received grievances from a Virginia woman who claimed he failed to help her family settle an estate. Another man claimed Brauer failed to represent him regarding a motorcycle accident.
Brauer denied the charges but did not show up for a formal hearing. He filed a voluntary surrender in January and said he did not challenge or contest the allegations.
