Parents of a 4-year-old girl who spent about five hours alone in a transport van after it arrived at her Omaha day care say the day care’s owners have apologized.
Monica and James Maxson are still outraged by what happened to their daughter, Haylee, on Tuesday.
They say they’ve gotten a letter from Little Lamb’s Daycare and Preschool. It says “there is no excuse for what happened. We apologize immensely for this accident.”
Sheryl and Dan Godsey own and manage the day care. Dan Godsey told Omaha television KMTV that they are heartbroken about what happened. He says three workers had checked off on paperwork indicating the van Haylee was in had been checked.
He also says the driver and the other two workers have been fired.
