Think Twice About Driving After Those Green Beers, NSP Adds Extra Troopers for St. Patty’s Day

leprechaun-drivingBe weary of driving after you’ve consumed your corned beef and cabbage and green beers!

The Nebraska State Patrol want motorists to be aware that they will be conducting high visibility patrols, multi-agency checkpoints and DUI selective during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend.  The Patrol hopes to reduce the potential for accidents and drinking and driving.

Troopers and Communications Specialists will put in overtime hours beginning Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17 as they work to lower the risk of serious injury and fatality crashes caused by impaired drivers.

The extra patrol is made possible by a $19,040 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
