Broncos Lose Preseason Opener

The Denver Broncos dropped their preseason opener 24-23 to the Dallas Cowboys last night as the Cowboys scored a touchdown and two-point conversion with 15 seconds left to play. The Broncos first team offense scored on their opening drive, with Matt Prater hitting a 24 yard field goal. That was all the scoring for the first team, which was quarterbacked by Kyle Orton, who hit on two of his six passes for 37 yards. Tim Tebow led two scoring drives in the second quarter, both ending in Prater field goals. Tebow completed six of seven passes for 91 yards and rushed twice for 15 yards. In the fourth quarter, Jeremiah Johnson ran for a touchdown and Brady Quinn threw a TD pass to Eron Riley to complete Denver’s scoring. The Broncos are back in preseason action next Saturday at home against the Buffalo Bills.
