Families can learn about extreme weather and the best ways to survive tornadoes and flooding at a free University of Nebraska-Lincoln event.
The Weatherfest and Severe Weather Symposium will be held at Hardin Hall on UNL’s East Campus on April 6.
Experts will explain the best ways to react to challenging weather conditions.
A documentary on storm chasing will be screened, a weather balloon will be launched and everyone will be able to check out a vehicle designed for chasing tornadoes.
There will also be a discussion of the 100th anniversary of the deadliest tornado to ever strike Nebraska and tips on taking pictures of weather events.
