UPDATED: LCSO Searching for Missing Woman at Sutherland Reservoir

UPDATE:

Divers with the Sutherland Dive team located the body of the missing elderly woman at around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Sandra Comer of Elsie.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says Comer’s body was found in about 18 to 20 feet of water, 175 feet from where whe was believed to have gone in the water.

The investigation is ongoing.  However, Deputies believe Comer’s death was accidental in nature.

Lincoln County Deputies are searching for a missing woman at the Sutherland Reservoir.

On May 28th around 11:00 p.m., Deputies were asked to contact a citizen who wanted to file a missing persons report on his 75-year-old wife.

After speaking to the man, Deputies soon located the woman’s vehicle on the south side of the inlet at the Sutherland Reservoir.

After searching the area all night, Investigators and Deputies believe the elderly female may have fallen into the water.

On May 29th, an airplane with the Nebraska State Patrol was summoned to aid in the search.

Additionally, the Sutherland Dive Team was dispatched and is actively searching for the female.  As of 11:00 a.m., the woman had not been located.

Investigators believe that the individual was at the Sutherland Inlet area prior to 1:00 p.m. on May 28th.  Anyone who may have seen an elderly female in the area is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (308) 535-9599.

At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the woman’s name.
