(AP) — Actress Glenn Close is planning to visit Nebraska this fall to talk about the stigma of mental illness.

Close will visit Omaha on Oct. 3 as part of a community event designed to raise awareness about people affected by mental illnesses.

Close is passionate about the issue because her sister, Jessie, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was 51.

Statistics show that one in every four families is affected by a major mental illness.
