(AP) — An early-morning fire has destroyed a home in south-central Nebraska.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Friday in Orleans. The home was engulfed when firefighters arrived. Authorities say 18 firefighters from Orleans and Alma fought the blaze until it was under control around 3 a.m.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters remained on scene with the Nebraska State Fire Marshal until 6 a.m. The cause of the blaze hasn’t been determined, and authorities say the home is a total loss.
