Bernard Lyle Hayward

Bernard Lyle Hayward, 90, of Hyannis, NE died September 21, 2013 at his home. Bernard was born August 13, 1923 in Hyannis to Charles W. and Minnie (Bloom) Hayward. Of his 9 siblings he was the last survivor. He graduated from Hyannis High School in 1940 and attended Denver Business School. He entered the US Army May 6, 1943 as a member of the Third Infantry Division. He served in the European Theater. He married his wife of 67 years, Anna Marie Czereszke, in Lohr Am Main Germany. He was a proud 50 plus member of the American Legion Post 57, founding member of Cow Country Community Foundation and Congregational Church. After retirement from Hayward Plumbing and Heating in 1990 he pursued his hobbies of fishing, wood working and gardening. Survivors include his wife Ann, son Neal (Cecilia) Hayward of Mullen, Bill of Hyannis and daughter Dee (Bert) Prindle of Saratoga WY. Grandchildren Mark Hayward, Phoenix, AZ, CeeCee (Joe) Polt, Brady, NE, Kimberly (Craig) Gerdts, Lincoln, NE Lonnie (Heather Prindle, Torrington, WY, Sonia (Scott) Gallenback, Baggs, WY, Willie Hayward, Oklahoma City, OK and Hobie Hayward of Kearney, Ne. Great-Grandchildren Devin and Megan Polt, Madilyn and Macy Gerdts and Ellie Anna Gallenbeck. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 25, 2013 at Congregational Church of Hyannis at 2 PM MDT in Hyannis, NE. Visitation will be held at 9 AM Wednesday until time of service at the Church. Burial with Military Honors with the American Legion Post 57, VFW #3690 and the United States Army at the Hyannis Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Hyannis Cemetery.
