Imogene McDougal, 61, of North Platte, NE, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

Imogene was born August 13, 1952, to Marion Felix and Gladys “Lorraine” Gilleece Long at Norton, KS. She grew up on a farm near New Almelo, KS and graduated from Lenora High School in 1970. Imogene married and had a son, Marshall Siruta. She worked at Goodland Medical Center before she married Doyle Eugene McDougal on November 30, 1985, in Atwood, KS. To this union a daughter, Sheila, was born. They lived in Atwood before moving to Lexington, NE where Imogene worked for many years at the Plum Creek Care Center as a CNA. She retired in 2010 due to illness.

Imogene attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, camping, flowers, gardening and was a wonderful cook. She was also an avid reader. Imogene loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle, and daughter, Sheila (Jeff) Newland, all of North Platte; a son, Marshall (Samantha) Siruta, of Goodland, KS; her mother, Lorraine Long, of Hays KS; three grandchildren, Megan and Jordan Siruta and Nicholas Newland; four sisters, Rita (Bill) Barker, of Hays, KS, Rhonda (Dennis) Johnson, of Assaria, KS, Irene Schieferecke, of McPherson, KS and Gerry (Mark) Baalmann, of Grinnell; nine brothers, Kenneth (Dorothy) Long, of Nixa, MO, Roger (JoAnn) Long, of New Almelo, KS, Joe (RoseAnn) Long, of Climax Springs, MO, Tom (Jan) Long, of Woodruff, KS, Floyd (Karen) Long, of Kimball, NE, Frank (Leticia) Long, of St. Elizabeth, MO, Fred (Mardie) Long, of Independence, MO, Gary (Carolyn) Long, of Hill City, KS and Leonard (Joan) Long, of Logan, KS; many nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews and other family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marion; and an infant brother, Lawrence Joseph Long.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. A Rosary Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Neal Hock as celebrant. Burial will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
