(AP) — Authorities say an Omaha fire captain had a small amount of marijuana, an open container of alcohol and a handgun that he didn’t quickly disclose when a sheriff’s deputy stopped him last month.
Sarpy County prosecutors have charged 41-year-old Frank J. Guido, of Bellevue, with two misdemeanors. Guido also was ticketed for three other alleged infractions in connection with the stop in the Bellevue area on Aug. 30.
Authorities say Guido had a valid concealed-carry permit, but violated one of its conditions by not immediately informing the officer when he was stopped.
Guido has pleaded not guilty. His attorney says Guido’s employment status with the Omaha Fire Department had not changed.
A fire department spokesman says an internal investigation is under way.
