(AP) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking applicants for its annual Nebraska Young Artist awards.

The awards recognize 11th graders from Nebraska who show talent in the visual arts, dance, music, theatre, film and new media.

Applications must include a work sample and a recommendation letter from a teacher. They must be submitted online by Dec. 6 at http://go.unl.edu/nyaa .

The applications are judged by faculty from the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. Winners will receive invitations to a recognition day on April 9.
