(AP) — A judicial nominating commission has forwarded the names of seven nominees to Gov. Dave Heineman to consider as he fills an Omaha judgeship vacancy.

The nominees for Douglas County Court judge are C. Jan Headley, Jessica Kerkhofs, Dennis Lee, Ann Mangiameli, Michael Nelson, Steven Twohig, and Derek Vaughn, all of Omaha.

The 4th Judicial District consists of Omaha in Douglas County.

The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge Edna Atkins.
