(AP) — Western Nebraska farmers will be able to learn more about sustainable agriculture techniques at a conference next month in Ogallala.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension conference on Dec. 7 will focus on the benefits of using cover crops, but other topics, such as grazing management and growing vegetables, will also be covered.

The event features speakers with decades of experience in using the techniques.

Keynote speaker Dale Strickler says using cover crops can help restore nutrients to soil and decrease fertilizer costs.
