A 66-year-old Wallace man accused of trying to run down his son-in-law with his vehicle has entered a plea of not guilty.

Authorities say Ted Evans attempted to run over Lawrence Kidd in August because he was angry Kidd was living with his daughter.

According to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office report, witnesses to the incident say an enraged Evans drove though several yards causing damage to fences and other property while trying to strike Kidd.  They say Kidd went to speak to a neighbor about the damage, and as he was walking back to his house, Evans drove toward him again at a high rate of speed.

Kidd was able to jump out of the way, however his left arm was struck by the vehicle.

Evans is facing a charge of felony 2nd degree assault.
