Huskers Jump One Spot to Ninth in Both Major Polls

Nebraska’s reward for their most explosive start to a season offensively in over a decade and a half is a one-spot leap to ninth in the latest AP and USA Today coaches college football polls. The Huskers rolled to a 51-38 victory over Washington on Saturday at Memorial Stadium, meaning they’ve scored 40 or more points in each of their first three games, something the Huskers haven’t done since the national championship season of 1995. Nebraska ran up 460 total yards of offense on the Huskies, including 309 on the ground, led by Rex Burkhead’s 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Nebraska is off to a 3-0 start for the second straight season. On Saturday, they play their lone non-conference road game of the season as they head west on I-80 to Laramie to take on Wyoming. The Cowboys are also 3-0.
