Nebraska senior Jordan Hooper earned her first Big Ten Conference Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week award this season, sharing the honor with Minnesota’s Amanda Zahui B. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Hooper erupted for 30 points and 11 rebounds in just 20 minutes in Nebraska’s win over Oral Roberts to close non-conference play. The 6-2 forward from Alliance, Neb., hit 11-of-15 shots from the field, including 4-of-8 three-pointers, and all four of her free throw attempts in the game. She added two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in an efficient all-around effort. Hooper scored 23 points and had eight rebounds in the first half, helping the Huskers produce a school-record 62 first-half points.
It was Hooper’s seventh career Big Ten Player-of-the-Week award.
Hooper and the Huskers open Big Ten Conference action against Northwestern on Thursday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tip-off with the Wildcats is set for 8 p.m.
