Neb. Education Board Elects New Leaders

(AP) — The State Board of Education for the Nebraska Department of Education has elected a new president and vice president to serve this year.

The department announced Thursday that Rachel Wise, of Oakland, will serve as president and John Sieler, of Omaha, will serve as vice president.

Wise was first elected to the board last year. She is a former teacher and has served as an administrator for Educational Service Unit 7, Omaha Public Schools and the nonprofit Building Bright Futures organization.

Sieler was elected to the board in 2010. He owns a consulting and marketing firm that specializes in logo items, promotional items and printing.
