(AP) — An Omaha woman has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after being convicted of pulling a gun on a paramedic.

Twenty-four-year-old Justine Dubois received the sentence Friday in Douglas County District Court. She must serve more than nine years before she is eligible for release.

As part of a plea bargain, Dubois pleaded no contest in November to several charges in relation to the July 1 shooting.

Prosecutors say Dubois faked a seizure while being arrested for allegedly stealing a car. In an ambulance taking her to a hospital, she pulled a gun and started making threats. Police say two shots were fired as Dubois and a paramedic struggled over the gun.

One shot hit Dubois in the leg. The other shot caused minor wounds to the paramedic’s abdomen.
