Floyd D. Gastineau, age 76, of North Platte, passed away at his home among family members on January 24, 2014. Floyd was born in North Platte, NE to Floyd and Millie Fraizer Gastineau on July 15, 1937. He lived in North Platte his whole life. Floyd married Patricia Negley in North Platte in 1960. Born to this union were 7 children, Floyd Ray (Butch), Steve, Lynn, Jamie, Peggy, Karen, and Robbin.
Floyd made his living working at North Platte Plumbing and Heating, Union Pacific Railroad, and Tomahawk Truckstop. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His hobbies were gardening and going out at night hunting for worms to sell to other fishermen. He loved listening to Johnny Cash. To our beloved Father and Grandfather, may you rest in peace.
Survivors include his children, Steve Gastineau of North Platte, Lynn Allen of North Platte, Jamie Gastineau of Hershey, Peggy (LeRoy) Gray of North Platte, and Karen (Duffy) Hopkins of North Platte; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Millie Gastineau; the mother of his children, Patricia Gastineau; two sons, Floyd (Butch) and Robbin; and four brothers, Pete, Bernie, Robert, and Russell.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Benjamin Schumacher officiating. Burial will follow at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
