Paul E. Saner, 83, of North Platte, passed away January 28, 2014 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1931 to Pearl and Jeanette (Wilson) Saner at Dunning, NE. Paul grew up in Dunning and graduated from Dunning High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorary discharge he returned to Nebraska and was united in marriage to Sharyn Hilderbrand. He worked as respiratory therapist and a technician at Berg Typewriter. Paul loved people and entertaining with his music at nursing homes and other events, where he played various instruments. He is survived by his sons, Stephen (Rhonda) Harvey of Des Moines and James (Lynn) Saner and Mark Saner both of North Platte; a daughter, Deborah (Robert “Howdy”) Jochum of Sutherland; a daughter-in-law, Deanna Saner of Kearney; brothers, Glenn and Jerry Saner; sisters, Ruth Nelson, Freda Fiehler and Fern (Horace) Nelson, Marilyn (Charles) Swisher and Lucille (Jim) Barker; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel; a daughter, Stephanie; his wife, Gloria; an infant sister and brother. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
