(AP) — The body of a 54-year-old woman has been recovered from a canal near Johnson Lake in south-central Nebraska’s Gosper County.

The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Investigators think Denise Carlberg lost control of her car and it went off the road, down an embankment and into the canal. The car and Carlberg’s body were recovered around 5:30 p.m.

An autopsy has been ordered.
