A Topeka man will serve the maximum sentence for his conviction on 105 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
Jason Hachmeister was convicted by a jury December 9. The panel found him not guilty on three more counts.
Hachmeister is also charged with murdering his mother. His murder trial is scheduled in August.
The jury in the sexual exploitation case was presented with 105 photographs of naked children seized from Hachmeister’s computer.
On Friday, Shawnee County District Judge Evelyn Wilson said those photos ranged from “extremely troubling” to “vile.”
Judge Wilson imposed the maximum sentence of 86 months, and ordered lifetime post release supervision. Hachmeister must register as a sex offender for life after the judge ruled that at least seven of the children in the photographs were younger than 14.
