(AP) — A 35-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 40 to 60 years in prison for fatally stabbing his wife last May.

Bobby Wallace Sr. was sentenced Friday in Douglas County District Court.

Police says Wallace stabbed 24-year-old Lavern Eubanks at the home they shared in front of their four children.

Prosecutors also said Wallace also ran after a child to try stab him or her. None of the children were injured.

Wallace was found guilty of second-degree murder, second-degree assault and use of the weapon to commit a felony.

Prosecutors say he will be eligible for parole after 20 to 30 years.
