NPCC Music Department to Present Concert March 4th

The North Platte Community College Music Department will present their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at the McDonald-Belton Theater on the South Campus of the college.

The theme of this concert is “The Classics.” It will feature pieces that are deemed “classic” in various genres of music including classical, gospel, jazz and rock.

The concert will feature the NPCC Choir, Select Choir and Jazz Band. The Choir, directed by Elizabeth Peters with Donna Pucket as collaborative accompanist, will perform selections including “Soon and Very Soon,” “Agnus Dei,” and “Regina Coeli.” Songs by the Select Choir include “How High the Moon,” “Embraceable You,” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”

Members of the NPCC Choir are: Rachael Wardyn of Brady; Carl Rippy of Detroit, Mich.; Nicole Hines of Gothenburg; Abby Kurtzer of Haxtun, Colo.; *Christian Farmer of Hershey; Matt Perry of Keenesburg, Colo.; *Baylea Vallier of Laramie, Wyo.; Walker Baird of Lewellen; Chantel Sullivan of Mullen; *Abby Bradley, Shauna Buchi, Macey Budke, *Kaleb Christensen, *Amariah Gesinski, *Drake Heikes, Steven Keltz, *Jacob McNeel, Stacia Nutter, Michael Odle, Amy Taft, Sara Savage, *Nichole Schmidt and *Kylie Wroot of North Platte; Courtney Ehlers of Stapleton; Mik Keeling of Sutherland; and Briana Dickerson of Westminster, Colo. The Jazz Band, directed by Ron Daly, will perform numbers including “Free Bird,” “Brown Eyed Girl,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Members of the NPCC Jazz Band are: Dana Gibson and Mariah Strasburg of Arnold; Bre Zierke of Callaway; Karie Funk of Culbertson; Matt Perry of Keenesburg, Colo.; Walker Baird of Lewellen; and Brin Brauer, Kaleb Christensen, Dylan Grieser and Drake Heikis of North Platte.

The event is free and open to the public
