Police Continue Search for Missing Bellevue Teen

michaela-wells-2Authorities in eastern Nebraska continue to search for a missing 16-year-old girl.

The Bellevue Police Department said at a Wednesday news conference that officers are looking for Michaela Wells. Her parents say they last saw their daughter Sunday night as she went outside to take out the trash. A police report was filed Monday night.

Chief Mark Elbert said there’s no evidence that indicates Michaela was taken against her will, but it hasn’t been ruled out. He added there’s no evidence the girl is in danger, and called it a missing persons case.

Michaela’s parents say the girl was in a dress coat but left behind her wallet and cellphone. Police are searching the girl’s electronics to see if there are any clues to her whereabouts.
