(AP) — Charges have been filed against a 29-year-old man shot by an officer during a standoff in Scottsbluff.

Matthew Schwab faces four felony counts of terroristic threats. His next day in court is scheduled for Tuesday.

Authorities say Schwab was shot by a Scottsbluff officer around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 after holding officers at bay for nearly three hours. Schwab came out of a recreational vehicle, pointing a handgun at officers. Scottsbluff Police Chief Kevin Spencer has said his officer yelled at Schwab to put down his gun, but he didn’t. The officer then fired, striking Schwab twice.

A public phone listing for Schwab couldn’t be found. His attorney didn’t immediately return a message Thursday from The Associated Press.
